I like the way the Help button on the chat window takes you to a page that's totally useless.... How about not underestimating your users? How about a link to a page with operational instructions? How about command lists and explanations of them? How about a sentence or two about what your different buttons and checkboxes do in chat-options and room-options? How about tutorials on the different features available with the java you're using?
In short... how about a Helpful Help page?
(and as long as you're improving... how about offering an entry page using the old java applet (v1.5? 3x?) like what's at (the following link is for administrator-eyes only... the rest of you, do not read it...): it's got less features, but it will allow some people to access the site who would otherwise be unable to, and some people (like me) just like that applet better....
If no one answers any of the rest of this, answer at least this: Where can i find a guide for teaching me how to use my room options? for teaching me what everything means and what everything does? thanks a mil

English, please? I don't speak computer technician.
I agree on the help button currently being useless. If you need chat related help join the #Help room on the chat server.
Using the Java chat applet you wont really need to know any command lines,
if you do want to know any join the help room ( /join #help (by command)).
Most of the checkboxes under Chat options are reasonably self explained...Theres options to turn off sounds on events (i suggest you use it)
Do not disturb option- Blocks messages from other users
Theres a few memo/buddy options, pretty useless for most people.
not much point in really adding the old Java versions, that version only limits you to one room and an ugly display (current one is probably worse though).
It wont allow people access to the site who shouldnt have it.
you specifically wanted to know about room options,
Room welcome message: Users are greeted with this when they enter.
Room topic: Displayed beside roomname in Rooms tab
Add Moderator: allows you to add room owners/moderators (with power to kick/ban) this option is only open to the room owner(s)
Note: Members & voiced explained below
-Room options tab:
-Secret: Room is hidden from the Room tab
-No forum: not a clue...its pointless
-Moderators may not change settings: Only rooms owner(s) can change settings
-Members only: only people on the member list can join. Members are added same way as room moderators/owners
-Strict moderation: Only users with Owner/Mod/Voice can talk in the room, everyone elses message are not displayed.
-Topic changeable...: If NOT set ANYONE in the room can change the topic
-Block external messages: Stops users from sending messages to the room who are not in it.
- Invite only: Users have to be invited to join ( /invite #Roomane nickname )
-Password to enter: Users will need a password to join
-Max Occupancy: Room is limited to certain amount of users
-Overflow room: When limit is reached users will be diverted to the set room
-Overflow message: They message they will see
When a room is registered by default these will be set and should NOT be changed:
Topic changeable....
Block external messages
DO NOT set:
Overflow room/message
Room bans/quiets are listed on the right, they can be added/removed here
I hope this explains quite a bit, if you need any more help join the #Help room.
